The Makaveli Code: What's good with G Money today?

G Money: Still tryin to be a part of hit song. I've been apart of a hit album,and I still thank i'm the world's best kept secret. Not braggin'.

The Makaveli Code: What got you into music?

G Money: My mom growin' up watching her sing in church. It was a sight to see.

The Makaveli Code: I know this has been asked before, but what got you to Interscope/2Pac?

G Money: I was with the first black rapper Interscope signed Radio. He was from Long Beach which is where I'm from. We hook up and Radio had the deal. That's how I got the work.

The Makaveli Code: What all tracks did you do, how was the vibe in the studio for each track, and what would you say was your favorite thing about working with him?

G Money: I did background for Lord Knowz, and of course I did Young Niggaz. My last one, Sucka For Love which later on when he died someone changed it to Do For Love, but mine was the O.G. version of it. He even called my name out at the end to let me know he didnt change it. The vibe was a hit makin' memorable type vibe. It's like you knew these songs was gone be listened to and rememebered! My favorite thing was when he went in the booth laid, his verse, came back out, and asked me what did i think. He trusted my advice, that gave me trust in myself that I could really coach in a big studio! (Thanks 2Pac......I love you man.)

The Makaveli Code: What did you think when you heard 2Pac was shot the first time?

G Money: What did I think? At first I didn't think he was going to make it.

The Makaveli Code: What was your thoughts when you heard 2Pac got shot the 2nd time?

G Money: My thoughts were he pulled through the first time, he'll pull through this time. I said a prayer and kept pushin'!

The Makaveli Code: Do you feel 2Pac's death impacted rap in a negative way?

G Money: No.

The Makaveli Code: Now, let's fast forward a little...tell me how you linked up with C-Style Records and what all work you did with them.

G Money: Well i've known Chris since the third grade. I heard that he had gotten a deal with Capitol. He was in the hood when I ran into him told him it was me doing that 2Pac hook "the kinda of G that everybody knows" He put me on! I did a ballad called "If You Take Me". It was a nice song. I don't know what happened to it!

The Makaveli Code: What happened after the C-Style thing fell through?

G Money: What happened after that was 2Pac got of jail, before that I worked with Snoop Dogg on this one cut. I don't know what happened to it, then 2Pac got out and next thing I know "Gangsta Party" was out. I remember because I had work with both artist. It was '96

The Makaveli Code: I saw recently that you were working with Big Syke and Thug Life. How'd you hook up with Thug Life and what are you guys working on together?

G Money: Currently with Thug Life, we've already finished the album. It should be come out in the middle of the summer.

The Makaveli Code: How do you feel rap has changed over the last few years compared to the 90's?

G Money: Rap used to be fun! It was about hangin' with your homies or your girlfriends. Everybody talkin' where the party was, dancing, and talkin' to a female and of course postive shh! Now it's about ' I'll kill you!!!!! No, nigga I really will fuckin' kill you and your friend too. You know why? Because I DONT GIVE A FUCK! I got bitches, hoes, and gold. I'mma pimp.' Every body wants to be a pimp and a gangsta.

The Makaveli Code: If you could work with anyone who would it be?

G Money: I would pick Ice Cube, with him on the verse and me on the hook....a masterpiece.

The Makaveli Code: Any advice for the aspiring artist out there?

G Money: Get a secondary love that makes money, while you are pursuing your first love, because sometime your dream could take a while. NEVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAM!!!
